3 tips for helping children share vacation experiences

Going on vacation with your children is a time to build memories, but the children may miss their other parent. When you’re co-parenting, it may be beneficial to help your children share their vacation experiences with the other parent. 

There are several ways that you can help your children to share things with your ex. Determining which of these are suitable for your children may help to make the vacation a little more special for them.

1: Take pictures for the children

Your children may want to show their other parent what they were doing on vacation. Take pictures of the kids having fun so you or they can send them to your ex. Even if the children have their own phones, you can still catch some candid pictures to share. 

2: Facilitate communication

Make it as easy as possible for your children to communicate with your ex. This may be easy if your children have phones, but you can still encourage them to contact their other parent. 

3: Assist with souvenir purchases

Your children may want to give something from the trip to their other parent. Try to make this as easy as possible for them. Even if you and your ex don’t get along, you probably still know what 

Even when you’re on vacation, you still have to ensure you’re following the parenting plan. If your child has set communication times with your ex, ensure that the schedule is followed. You and your ex may be able to set a different schedule, so be sure to communicate with them to determine the specific guidelines for vacations.
